چکیده
Molecular Probes prepares the most extensive assortment of nucleic acid stains commercially available, many of which have been developed in our research laboratories. This section discusses the physical properties of the various classes of dyes, listed below. The sections in Chapter 8 that follow discuss numerous applications of these dyes and our other reagents and technology for genomics research. The four classes of Molecular Probes’ proprietary cyanine dyes include:

8.7 Analysis of DNA Structure, DNA Binding and DNA Damage
• Acridine orange (A-1301, A-3568; Section 8.1) is one of the most popular and versatile fluorescent stains for histochemistry and cytochemistry and can provide a wide variety of information about the in situ content, molecular structure, conformation and environment of many nucleic acid–containing cell constituents.1 • Fluorescence photobleaching of DNA that has been photolytically labeled wit...
متن کاملSection 8.4 - Nucleic Acid Detection and Quantitation in Electrophoretic Gels and Capillaries
Molecular Probes’ new generation of fluorescent nucleic acid gel stains — the SYBR Gold, SYBR Green I and SYBR Green II dyes — are by far the best high-sensitivity reagents for staining DNA (Figure 8.60) and RNA (Figure 8.61) in electrophoretic gels.1 These gel stains provide greater sensitivity with lower background fluorescence than the conventional gel stain, ethidium bromide. In addition, A...

Background & Objectives: Antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNA) that target growth essential genes show potent bactericidal properties without cell lysis. We considered the possibility that whether PNA treatment influence the bacteria total nucleic acids content and apply approach to develop a new delivery system to Dendritic cells (DCs). DCs are the most potent antigen presenting cells in th...
